My Learning Goal By the end of 2022 I will engage in professional learning for Guided Reading.I will work with an Instructional Specialist to further develop planning and delivering a Guided Reading Session. Evidence: My Performance Goal By the end of 2022 I will have developed a coherent understanding of the Australian Teaching Standards through completing my teacher accreditation. This will be achieved through professional learning, designing and implementing different teaching programs through collecting and analysing data.

My Learning Goal: By the end of 2021 I will have designed, implemented and engaged in professional learning through completing a ME&E Proficient Course. By completing this course I will have developed a coherent and deeper understanding as well as knowledge and skills to be integrated with a range of pedagogical practices in Mathematics. Performance Goal: By the end of 2021 I would have received feedback on my Launch lessons I have developed, attended and participated in four course workshops, as well as collaboratively worked and reflected with my mentor teacher. Evidence: Term 1 In Term 1, I attended Workshop 1 of the ME&E Proficient Course at St Gertrudes- Smithfield. I had the opportunity to design mathematical tasks that enabled a culture of high expectations of all students. In saying this we focused on recognising important mathematical ideas, experiencing and evaluating a lesson, understanding and breaking down the syllabus content in relation to addition and subtraction and designing mathematical launch tasks and success criteria in order to achieve clear learning intentions. The workshop allowed us to work collaboratively with other teachers from various schools to complete these tasks. This was a rich experience as we were all able to bounce off ideas, experiences, knowledge and skills from one another. I was also able to observe my Mentor teacher in Term 1 teach a Mathematics lesson on Data where I was shown how to provide students with the opportunity to showcase their work as well as conduct a master class. Throughout Term I assisted and worked with a teacher in my grade to create launch lessons on Patterns and Algebra. This allowed me to become familiar as well as gain more of an understanding in ensuring low entry points and high ceilings are provided, so all students are able to successfully participate. During Term 1, I independently designed my first Launch lesson where my mentor teacher provided me with written and oral feedback. I also completed this launch task with my class so I was able to evaluate the lesson myself. Term 2: In Term 2, I attended Workshop 2 of the ME&E Proficient Course at St Christopher's Catholic Primary School, Holsworthy. Through this workshop we recognised mathematical ideas, experienced and evaluated a lesson, identified pedagogies, know and become familiar with outcomes and embed pedagogical moves. This workshop allowed me to reflect upon how I would apply these practices by Smith and Stein to improve student learning. My Mentor teacher in Term 2 came in and observed my lesson on Division. I painted a picture which benefited students in this Launch task. I included pedagogical moves and these included a Gallery Walk and Fish Bowl.. Through this lesson, it was evident that students were motivated and engaged. It also allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of how and when to strategically apply pedagogical moves. I was provided with oral and written feedback.
