My Learning Goal: By the end of 2022 I will have designed, implemented and engaged in professional learning through completing a ME&E Proficient Course. By completing this course I will have developed the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement various pedagogical practices in Mathematics. Evidence: My Performance Goal: By the end of 2022, I would have received feedback on Launch lessons I have created and delivered by my mentor teacher and collaboratively work together to improve on my practices when teaching Mathematics. Evidence: As part of this progressional learning experience, I worked collaboratively with my mentor to create a launch task, I then administered the task and was observed. I was provided with constructive feedback from my mentor to implement relevant pedagogical moves and talks to improve on both my teaching practice as well as student engagement and success. My Learning Goal: By the end of 2021, I will engage in professional learning and work collaboratively with the literacy team to further my knowledge and skills with regards to guided reading particularly developing strategies to strengthen students' reading abilities. 2.5 Literacy and numeracy strategies Know and understand literacy and numeracy teaching strategies and their application in teaching areas. Evidence: In term one, on the 16th of March I engaged in professional learning in reading particularly focusing on effectively completing a reading record to better understand students' reading abilities and thus implement teaching strategies that will facilitate in students’ growth. Through engaging in professional learning, I was able to effectively gain an understanding in how to administer whilst also analyse reading records. In response to this, I then administered reading records to students working above stage level to monitor students’ growth and also identify any gaps. Many students were able to read the words within the book however their ability to comprehend or infer was limited. Therefore, during guided reading, I asked students comprehension questions to build on their comprehension skills. Throughout term two, I will continue to build on students’ capacity to comprehend and infer a variety of texts and also complete reading records throughout the term to continue to monitor students’ learning. In term two, I continued to engage in professional learning regarding Guided Reading. Term 2 Weeks 2/3 Guided Reading PL 1 Term 2 Weeks 4/5 Guided Reading PL 2 My Performance Goal: By the end of 2021, I will have designed and implemented teaching programs that target all students' varying needs across all areas of learning. 1.5 Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of strategies for differentiating teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities. Evidence: Prior to remote learning this year, I worked closely with my EAL/D specialist where I organised my room in three levels. One of which was my extension group where they worked with the EAL/D specialist and a core group who were also provided with our support when required and finally a support group which worked in a small group on the floor. As there were many students who required this support, I created a timetable to ensure all students were given that support they needed. K.2 Writing Groups Timetable During remote learning, students demonstrated difficulty in writing sentences. Through consultation with my grade partners, we collaborated and developed groups based on student data collected previously. We used EAL/D specialists and diverse learning staff to assist in improving on the writing of our students. Kindergarten Zoom Writing Groups
